Alex's Vision for Rowlett

My name is Alexander Robles and I’m running for Rowlett City Council, Place 6. I’ve lived in Rowlett for 19 years. This city isn’t just where I live it’s where I’ve raised my family and built my life. Rowlett means a lot to me, and I’m running because I want to give back to the community that has given me so much. First, I want to keep Rowlett safe. Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities a city has. I want to make sure our neighborhoods are safe for families, for kids walking home from school, and for all of us who call this place home. That means supporting our first responders and listening to the safety concerns of our community. I will work closely with our Police and Fire Departments to make sure they have the tools, training, and staff they need to do their jobs well. I respect the work they do every day, and I believe in building strong relationships between the city and those who protect it. When our first responders are supported, our whole community benefits.

I also want to keep property taxes low. As someone who owns a home and runs a small business, I understand how rising costs can hurt families. I believe we can grow as a city without putting more pressure on homeowners. I will work hard to make sure our city budget is used wisely and that we spend money where it really matters. Another reason I’m running is to encourage more people from the Hispanic community to be part of local government. I want to show my community that our voices matter. We need to be involved in city decisions, and we need to show our kids that they, too, can lead and make a difference. Representation is important, and I want to be that example.

When it comes to development, I believe we need to be careful. I support no more apartment communities unless they are high-rise and truly benefit our city long-term. Rowlett is growing fast, but we need to grow in a smart way that keeps our neighborhoods safe, quiet, and family-friendly. We must think about traffic, schools, and how new developments affect our daily lives. Lastly, one of my biggest goals is to build a new park with proper lighting for the kids of Rowlett. I want to create a space where families can enjoy time outside, where kids can play safely even when the sun goes down, and where our community can come together. Parks help bring people together and make our city stronger. Our kids deserve a safe, clean, and fun place to be. I’m running for City Council because I believe in Rowlett. I believe in doing things the right way. I’m ready to listen, to work, and to serve. I ask for your support, your trust, and your vote for Place 6. Thank you, and God Bless Rowlett!
